Pineapple Ranch Water

Jump to Recipe

This refreshing Pineapple Ranch Water Cocktail recipe is a delicious twist on the classic ranch water recipe and will quickly become your go to summer drink! The best part is, you can make this a cocktail or a mocktail with a simple ingredient swap. It's the ultimate warm weather crowd pleaser!

Texas Ranch Water is one of my all time favorite tequila cocktails to enjoy during the summer months. It's perfect for sipping poolside or enjoying at an outdoor BBQ. Mix it up with your favorite tequila, sparkling mineral water & fresh lime juice to make the classic three-ingredient cocktail, but I love adding pineapple to give it a punch of extra flavor.

If you're not a fan of alcohol, you can easily make this drink into a mocktail by adding your favorite non-alcoholic tequila or simply omitting that ingredient altogether. If you're looking for more cocktails & mocktails you might enjoy this Frozen Dirty Banana Mocktail or this refreshing Limoncello Martini during the warmer months.

Why You'll Love This Recipe

  • It's refreshing. There's nothing quite like a Ranch Water on a hot day! Similar to a classic margarita, Ranch Water pairs perfectly with summer.
  • It's easy to make at home. If you can't get your hands on the popular Ranch Rider Pineapple Ranch Water, you can easily make it at home. Ranch Rider is made with only reposado tequila, sparkling water, lime juice & pineapple and is gluten free, just like this recipe!
  • It's flexible. Ranch Water is one of those easy cocktail recipes that can be made more delicious with the addition of fruit like pineapple and can easily be made into a mocktail using non-alcoholic tequila.

Low FODMAP Tip: Tequila has not yet been tested for FODMAPs by Monash University, so this is a wonderful alternative, especially if you do not tolerate agave or are abstaining from alcohol. For more information on FODMAP friendly alcohol, check out this helpful guide I created.

Pineapple Ranch Water Ingredients

  • Pineapple Juice :If you do not have this on hand but you've got fresh pineapple available, you can try this Pineapple Water/Agua de Piña recipe that would pair perfectly in this ranch water recipe.
  • Lime: Juice from fresh limes is preferable. You'll also need a lime wedge for garnish.
  • Mint: Fresh mint pairs really nicely with the pineapple & lime and makes for a beautiful garnish.
  • Tequila or Tequila Alternative: It is preferable to use reposado tequila, however tequila blanco works as well. You can also choose a non-alcoholic tequila as well if you'd like to keep it alcohol free.
  • Mineral Water: Traditionally, ranch water is made using Topo Chico, however you can also use club soda or your favorite mineral water brand.

Step By Step Instructions

  • Blend the drink. Add all ingredients except for the mineral water to a blender and pulse to combine, about 60 seconds to properly blend the mint leaves into the drink.
  • Serve. Pour into rocks glasses and top with mineral water. Garnish with a lime wedge, pineapple chunks and fresh mint.

Pineapple Ranch Water FAQs

What is the best tequila for ranch water?

It depends a bit on your personal taste, but if you're a real tequila fan you may want to opt for reposado which also pairs really nicely with the pineapple flavor. If you don't want to taste the tequila as much, opt for blanco.

What type of lime juice is used in a ranch water?

It's best to use real lime juice that is fresh squeezed when making ranch water. You can use bottled lime juice in a pinch, but to me it doesn't taste as fresh.

How to make a frozen Pineapple Ranch Water

If you'd like to make this a frozen cocktail, simply add 1-2 cups of ice or frozen pineapple to the blender and blend until smooth.

What are the benefits of making this a mocktail?

  • No hangovers. Need I say more?
  • No buzz. This is my second favorite perk, after the no hangover part of course. Spirit alternatives are my favorite stand in for liquor in so many cases. This Pineapple Ranch Water is the perfect poolside drink on a hot day, but sometimes the hot sun + booze just don't mix. Enjoying a refreshing mocktail helps you stay alert AND enjoy the party!
  • Gentler on your body. With zero calories, no added sugar & real ingredients, spirit alternatives are the perfect way to enjoy your favorite cocktails again well still being kind to your body.
  • Gives you options. Out with friends but have a big day tomorrow? Celebrating but have to drive home? Had a few too many but the party's still going? The list of options and reasons why you'd want to enjoy a mocktail, like this Pineapple Ranch Water Recipe, are practically endless.
