Iced Strawberry Latte Ingredients

Iced Strawberry Latte Ingredients
  • Coffee – If you’re looking for a coffee bean that will pair best with berries, Ethiopian or Kenyan beans will be your best bet, though you can use any type of coffee you prefer.
  • Strawberries – Fresh or frozen strawberries will work in this summer coffee drink.
  • Maple Syrup – I like to use real maple syrup as a sweetener, but you could also use honey, cane sugar or monk fruit if you prefer.
  • Vanilla Extract – Adding a teaspoon of vanilla extract adds extra tastiness and depth of flavor.
  • Milk – I used Ripple Plant Milk because it’s my personal favorite and it froth’s really well, but you can use whatever your favorite type of milk is, too.

Step By Step Instructions

  1. Make the Strawberry Syrup – Add strawberries, maple syrup, vanilla extract and 1-2 tbsp of milk to a blender and pulse until smooth and no chunks of strawberry remain, about 1 minute.

2. Brew Your Favorite Coffee. If your coffee maker has an iced coffee function, brew 1/2 cup of your favorite coffee this way. Otherwise, I suggest using coffee that is already cold, whether you brewed it the night before and stored it in the fridge or you use premade iced coffee or cold brew concentrate. You can also use 2 shots of espresso as well if you have that available.

3. Froth The Milk. Using a handheld frother or the steam wand on your coffee maker to froth up the milk you’re using for the strawberry latte.

4. Build The Strawberry Latte. Fill a glass with ice, then pour in the cold coffee. Next pour in the strawberry syrup and top it off with frothed milk.

Strawberry Latte FAQs

What type of coffee is best for a strawberry latte?

Beans from Kenya or Ethiopia tend to have more of a berry flavor to them which will pair really well with the strawberry.

Shouldn’t I Use Espresso Instead?

Espresso and coffee are not different, espresso is just a different method of brewing coffee beans and is much stronger. If you do not have an espresso maker, you can simply prepare 1/2 cup of your favorite coffee for this latte. Otherwise, you may use 2 shots of espresso, just be sure to chill it so you can enjoy an iced summer coffee!

How Do I Make Strawberry Syrup?

Making strawberry syrup is so easy! Simply add 3-4 fresh strawberries to a blender with vanilla, maple syrup and a splash of milk. Blend it until smooth and you’ve got yourself homemade strawberry syrup that will froth easily with the milk right into your latte.

What Kind of Milk Should I Use?

You can use whatever kind of milk you prefer. Personally, I prefer to use milk made from pea protein because it froths really well and I enjoy plant based milks, but you’re welcome to use whatever you have on hand. I also enjoy using oat milk but tend to only use a little bit in coffee because it is higher in carbohydrates.

Can I Use Sweetener Other Than Maple Syrup?

Yes! I prefer to use real maple syrup because it is a paleo friendly unrefined sugar, but you may use whatever sweetener you like.
