This Protein Dirty Martini Dip is the game day appetizer for anyone who hosts every big game (and loves blue cheese with their wings) but actually wants to feel good after eating it. We’re talking smooth blended cottage cheese, chunky blue cheese, and salty Castelvetrano olives, with around 11g protein per serving. No cooking, no last-minute prep, and it can be made a full day ahead!

If YOU loved my Easy Cottage Cheese Ranch Dip, Buffalo Chicken Dip, Easy Cottage Cheese Queso, or my Cottage Cheese Pizza Bowl, you know I had to give cottage cheese another game day twist. This one takes everything I love about a dirty martini (the briny olives, the blue cheese, a squeeze of lemon) and blends it into a dip that can honestly hold its own next to the wings and nachos.
This protein-packed dip is basically a make-ahead dream for your Super Bowl Sunday gatherings. Blend the dirty martini dip the night before, keep it in the fridge, then add more blue cheese, olives, and chives right before kickoff. Set it out with Gluten Free Sourdough Crackers, celery, chips, a plate of wings, or any of my other Gluten Free Super Bowl Party Recipes, and your guests can graze through all four quarters without feeling heavy by halftime.
Why You’ll Love This Cottage Cheese Protein Dip
- Packed with protein. Around 11g per serving, thanks to the cottage cheese, blue cheese, and greek yogurt base.
- No cooking required. Everything goes in the food processor then the fridge, so your oven stays free for the wings.
- Made for hosting. Make it up to 24 hours ahead and just garnish before guests arrive. Takes 5-10 minutes of prep making this such an easy and quick dip.
- Big, bold flavor. Salty olives, tangy blue cheese, and bright lemon in every bite just like drinking a classic dirty martini.
- Naturally gluten free. Serve it with gluten free crackers or veggies and everyone at the party can dig in.

Protein Dirty Martini Dip Ingredients (& Tested Substitutions)
- Cottage cheese. This is where most of the protein comes from! Once it's blended, it turns completely smooth and creamy. The nutrition info is based on 2% cottage cheese, but full-fat or low-fat cottage cheese works too if that's what you have.
- Greek yogurt. Part of the base of this dip is plain greek yogurt instead of using sour cream. You can use non-fat greek yogurt or full fat greek yogurt depending on your preference. My favorite brand to use is Siggi's.
- Blue cheese. Regular blue cheese crumbles give this dip its tangy, salty bite. If you want something a little milder and creamier, gorgonzola crumbles would be a good swap.
- Castelvetrano olive brine. This is what makes this dip "dirty" without adding any alcohol to the dip. Just spoon the brine straight from the olive jar. Any green olive brine works, but it can be saltier, so start with a little less.
- Castelvetrano olives. These bright green olives are mild and buttery, which is why I love them here. Other green olives work in a pinch, but they tend to be sharper and saltier.
- Lemon juice. A little fresh lemon brightens up all that rich, salty flavor. Bottled works if that's what you have on hand.
- Salt & pepper. Taste before you add any salt, since the blue cheese, olives, and brine are already salty. A crack of black pepper is a must.
- Fresh chives. Great for garnishing the dip. You can also thinly slice the deep green part of regular green onions.
Dirty Martini Dip Step by Step Instructions
1. Blend the base. Add the cottage cheese, greek yogurt, blue cheese crumbles, olive brine, Castelvetrano olives, and 1 teaspoon of lemon juice to a food processor or high-speed blender. Blend until smooth and creamy, or pulse for a slightly chunkier texture.

2. Adjust the flavors. Taste and add additional lemon juice, salt, or black pepper as needed. For a stronger olive flavor, add a little more olive brine.

3. Chill if needed. If the dip is thinner than desired, refrigerate for 30–60 minutes to allow it to thicken. Alternatively, you can fold in additional greek yogurt to create a thicker dip.
4. Garnish and serve. Transfer the dip to a serving bowl and top with additional blue cheese crumbles, chopped Castelvetrano olives, and fresh chives. Serve chilled with your favorite crackers, chips, or vegetables.

Expert Tips & Tricks For A Delicious Protein Dirty Martini Dip
- Pick your texture. Blend until totally smooth, or pulse a few times if you like little bits of olive and blue cheese throughout.
- Taste before you salt. Between the blue cheese, olives, and brine, this dip is already pretty salty, so add salt last (if at all).
- Start small with the lemon. Begin with 1 teaspoon of fresh lemon juice and add more to taste. It's there to brighten things up, not take over.
- Want it extra dirty? Add a splash more olive brine until it tastes just right to YOU.
- Too thin? Pop it in the fridge for 30 to 60 minutes to thicken, or fold in a little more Greek yogurt.
- Garnish at the last minute. Add extra blue cheese, chopped olives, and chives right before serving so they stay fresh and pretty on the table.
- Feeding a big crowd? Make a double batch, blending in two rounds if your food processor is on the smaller side.

Protein Dirty Martini Dip FAQs
Does this dip have alcohol in it?
Nope! All of that dirty martini flavor comes from the olive brine and Castelvetrano olives, so it's totally alcohol free.
Can I make it ahead of time?
Yes, and honestly it's one of the best parts of this dip. You can make this dip up to 24 hours before your party, store it in an airtight container in the fridge, then stir and add the garnishes right before serving.
Can I use a different kind of olive?
Castelvetrano olives are mild and buttery, which is why they work so well here. Other green olives can be saltier and sharper, so start with less brine and taste as you go.
Is this dip gluten free?
All of the dip ingredients are naturally gluten free, but always double check your labels. Then serve it with gluten free crackers, chips, or fresh veggies.
What should I serve with it?
Gluten Free Sourdough Crackers or any other gluten free crackers, chips, celery, cucumber slices, and bell peppers are all great. For Super Bowl Sunday, set it right next to the wings.
