Equipment

  • Blender
  • Matcha whisk & bowl

Ingredients

For the Matcha Shot

  • 1 teaspoon matcha powder
  • ¼ cup water

For the Blueberry Syrup

  • cup blueberries fresh or frozen
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup or sweetener of choice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon optional

For Building the Latte

  • 5 oz milk of choice

Instructions

  • Make the Blueberry Syrup - Add blueberries, maple syrup, vanilla extract and cinnamon to a blender and pulse until smooth. You may need to add a teaspoon of water to the blender if you are using frozen blueberries in order for things to blend up smoothly.
  • Prepare the Matcha - Add water and matcha to a small bowl and whisk in a zigzag motion for 30 second to one minute to combine.
  • Build the Blueberry Matcha Latte - If you are making an iced blueberry matcha latte, first fill a glass with ice. If you would like to enjoy it hot, skip this step and instead simply steam your milk of choice. Add the blueberry syrup first, then the milk and top it off with the matcha.

Notes

If you'd prefer a hot matcha to an iced blueberry matcha latte, simply omit the ice and be sure to steam or warm your milk. You can heat it on the stove top, microwave, or using the steam wand of your espresso machine if you have one.
