2 Ingredient Protein Chocolate Mousse

This high Protein Chocolate Mousse recipe is the perfect dessert to make when your chocolate cravings are calling. Made with just a handful of simple ingredients you likely already have on hand, it's an easy & healthy way to quickly satisfy your sweet tooth while packing in around 40 grams of protein per serving!

Ingredients
  

  • ¾ cup plain greek yogurt or skyr full fat or non-fat
  • 1 scoop chocolate protein powder if your protein powder scoop is very large or your protein powder is very thick, start with ½ scoop and adjust according to your taste from there
  • 1 tsp maple syrup or honey optional

Instructions
 

  • Mix the mousse base. Add the greek yogurt or Skyr, chocolate protein powder and honey or maple syrup (if you choose to add sweetener) to a large mixing bowl. Using a hand mixer, mix on medium speed until the ingredients are fully mixed and incorporated. The mousse should have a light, fluffy texture.
  • Garnish & serve. Transfer the mousse to a small bowl or ramekin. Garnish with fresh fruit, cacao nibs, chocolate chips, or homemade whipped cream if desired.

Notes

Expert Tips

  • Add a tablespoon or two of cocoa powder to really boost the chocolate flavor
  • Add ⅛ cup (2 Tbsp.) of peanut butter or almond butter to make a creamy chocolate peanut butter protein mousse loaded with healthy fats
  • Use vanilla greek yogurt or skyr and vanilla protein powder to make vanilla protein mousse.
  • Top with your favorite fresh fruit, dark chocolate chunks or refined sugar free chocolate chips
  • This recipe makes one serving of protein mousse, however if you are going to double or triple the recipe to serve to friends or meal prep for the week, you may store it in an airtight container in the fridge for up 4 days.
