For the Spice Rub – Garlic scapes – White pepper – Paprika – Sage – Cinnamon – Nutmeg – Thyme – Salt – Pepper – Unsweetened cocoa powder For the Short Ribs – Boneless short ribs – Dry red wine  – Garlic infused olive oil – Bone broth  – Tomato paste – Carrots

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the spices for the spice rub. Add the beef short ribs to the bowl, tossing to evenly coat the cuts of meat. Once coated, sear the short ribs in a dutch oven or a large skillet of medium heat, about one minute on each side

Add seared short ribs and all remaining ingredients to the basin of your slow cooker, stirring gently to combine. Cook the short ribs on high for 4 hours or low for 6-8 hours.
